Taking a risk

So today, I have finally enrolled into Cinema Makeup School here in Hollywood. I am taking their Master Makeup Program. It is an 18 week course that starts with Beauty makeup I will learn the basics in beauty and then I will also learn airbrushing, along with high fashion avant gard looks. After that, I will go into character makeup which involves bald caps, fake hair application, injury simulations (burns, scars...you know gross stuff!). After that, it will lead into prosthetics, where I will sculpt and construct a creature. After that, I will go into special effects where I will make my creature come to life. Basically, I will paint it, add blood tubing and actually apply it onto a human being. Here are some examples of the work done at the school:

High Fashion Beauty

Character Makeup

Prosthetics

Special Effects

I'm so excited to get started on this. I start classes on February 23rd and it goes until June. While I am in school though, they give you jobs on different film sets and studios. I hope that this is something I will be good at. I love the creativity and artistic aspects of it.

A little late but...

Christmas pictures! I'm so lazy when it comes to uploading pictures. I still haven't figured out this Macbook completely yet either, which doesn't help. Anyway, these are the pictures of our Christmas. Christmas with family was separate, since we're in California. I don't have those pictures yet... only the one from the Christmas Blaine and I shared. We went to the Cheescake Factory for our Christmas Dinner (we celebrated a week early) and then spent the night enjoying Christmas cookies, video games and movies. Here are some pictures...

Blaine flew me out to North Carolina to see my mom for my Christmas present. It was exactly what I needed. I've been having a hard time dealing with her being so far away from me. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and continues to have a good new year!

Fire!

So Blaine and I went to Ralphs to get some groceries. We came back home and were in the process of putting away our groceries when all of a sudden our fire alarm went off! People start closing all the doors and running out with their dogs and stuff.. oh man, it was so scary. Blaine went out to see what was going on and then it started to smell, we saw the smoke and I just started to grab all the cats. We went downstairs and saw all of the firemen coming up the stairs, as well as all the people outside with the fire trucks. We just sat in Blaine's car and waited for everything to settle down. Luckily, it was just a small fire and we were able to go back in. Regardless, it was scary. I took some pictures... sorry for the quality, but it was super dark and Blaine's window was so dirty.

Can't read my poker face

I'm listening to Lady Gaga right now. Her music is so catchy. Some of the songs are obnoxious, but some are really good, like "Again, Again" I love the piano in that song.

I just got finished paying bills, which is never fun, but it's pay day, so you have to take the good with the bad. I just ordered Blaine's anniversary gift. It better get here a day that I'm here so he doesn't figure out what it is. He figured out what he got for Christmas by touching the box and then looking up a PS3 box to see if it had a handle... what a turd! ha ha Either way, he liked it. Which reminds me, I still need to post our Christmas pictures, but I need to get them off the camera.

I woke up with a bad headache today and I had extremely bad cotton mouth, I'm not even too sure why. I'm so hungry, this not eating thing is annoying. Not like anorexia not eating, but eating healthy. I always love eating better because I get more creative in the kitchen and if you make the right things, then the food tastes good. The issue is always lunch. There are only so many salads and pitas one can eat for lunch. I think I may make a turkey burger today, but I'm too lazy and I have so much to do, that I usually don't have time to eat. After this post, I have to work out also, which sucks because I really don't feel well today, but I have to do what I set out for.

Blaine will be home soon, which I am excited for. We're going to go the grocery I think and possibly go develop some pictures. We were playing left 4 dead last night... ah that game is so awesome. Just a ton of zombies come out of nowhere! We play in the dark too, which makes it better. ha ha

I wish I had a more interesting life so that I had something to write about... oh you know what? I realllly want to see My Bloody Valentine in 3-D. I'm a sucker for horror movies and I saw the original. I'm just not sure about 3-D you know? They're having a showing tonight in Hollywood, the director will be there for a Q and A, Blaine and I were going to go, but it was sold out. I'm not sure if we're going to go tonight or wait until next week. I'll have to talk to him and see. I want to make sure he can get enough sleep.

Well, I'm going to go work out and possibly make some lunch. If I get bored enough later, I'll post some stuff from Christmas.

It's been awhile...

So, I started this blog back in May and wrote in it for about a month and then stopped. My life finally feels like it is settling down, so I can take the time to write a little.

Just an update on how things have gone... Blaine and I have made our way out to California. We've been out here since July/ early August. We both have been working full time jobs, but are trying to reorganize our lives/schedules to better suite what we actually want to do out of life. I will be taking a leave of absence from work soon, to go to school. I am going to school for beauty makeup and special effects. However, that will not be my career. My passion still is and always will be singing. Blaine and I are going to be working on my demo this year and I will be doing open mic nights, once I have some material to actually perform. I just look at it like this, I would much rather be doing a job like makeup for films and studios while I am trying to make it, as opposed to be doing tech support. The school I will be attending is in the heart of Hollywood and they send out recommendations/job postings to film producers, directors, etc. to do work for. I would love to do zombie make-up on a zombie film!

Other than that we have just been enjoying each other's company. My parents have been out here... we went to Disneyland, Universal Studios and on New Years Eve I took my dad to see George Lopez. He had a blast!

In a couple of weeks will be Blaine and I's 2 year anniversary. It's hard to believe we have been together this whole time... it just seems like yesterday I was working at Hollywood Video and had him walk in to apply for a job. haha =) I love him though, and couldn't be happier.

Speaking of Blaine, I think he is getting ancy to play Left 4 Dead, so I am going to jump off here and go play with him.

Until next time...
